First Eucharist

A child’s initiation into the Catholic faith, which begins at his or her Baptism, requires a special level of commitment from both the child and his/her parents.

Families with children in second grade who have completed at least one year of faith formation, (includes Catholic school attendance), and who have already celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation are eligible to enter into the process for receiving First Eucharist. Minimally, families are to attend weekly Mass and participate fully in the parish preparation process. In addition to regularly scheduled faith formation sessions, special parent-child formation sessions are held during the year. Attendance in the special parent-child sessions are also required.

If you have any questions regarding First Holy Communion, please contact Katie Tylinski, Director of Faith Formation, via email or by phoning 724-212-6740.
