A Note From Father Joe
Last week I noted in this column that the dedication Mass for our new
worship space would be changed. Because of some recent surgery, Bishop Brandt
will not be able to dedicate our new facility in June as originally planned.
This week I am able to announce the new dedication date. It is Sunday, August 5th.
On that date we will be scheduling the morning Mass at 11:00 am for the
dedication. There will be no 9:30 am Mass on the day of dedication.
Let me also take this time to assure those who have scheduled weddings
that the change in the date of dedication will in no way affect plans for your
wedding. All weddings scheduled beginning with the 2012 calendar year will be
conducted at the new site.
In Other Business:
ALTAR SERVERS: Just a reminder,
training for new altar servers is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd at
6:30 pm in the church. If you would like to become a server please call the
office to register for the training session. If you would like to become a
server and are unable to attend the practice, please let us know and we will try
to make other arrangements.
VEHICLE BLESSING: Memorial Day
Weekend, May 26th and 27th, is typically seen as the
beginning of summer vacation time. Once again this year I will be blessing
vehicles immediately following each of the weekend Masses.
MEMORIAL DAY CEMETERY SERVICE:
The Memorial Day Cemetery Service will be held in the chapel at St. Catherine
Cemetery following the conclusion of the civic ceremonies in Leechburg.
ANOINTING MASS: The next
Anointing Mass will be held at St. Gertrude church on Friday, June 15th
at 12:10 pm.
